So when I decided I would go with Ernie and Tomm on their epic dual sport ride this year I hadn’t thought about the other stuff.
Tomm had found me a newer 2014 KLR to ride. That was the big hurdle.
It was only after I agreed to go that it dawned on me….
I NEED GEAR!
So the first thing was to start at the bottom. Boots.
I shopped around looking for, and trying to formulate an opinion, on what I needed in a boot.
I ended up deciding on the Alpinestars Tech3. Good price ($200), comfy, and good protection.
They aren’t a full MX boot but they’ll work fine for me.
Next up, gloves and helmet.
