After a bit of scheduled downtime the bike is ready to take on the Nor Cal BDR.
Since my last major ride I have changed the Rocker Arms, rebuilt the Fork with new Seals and Springs, added a stiffer spring to the Rear Shock, swapped out the stock fuel pump with a Taco Moto 3,k Hour Fuel Pump.
I just changed the oil and filters – and the bike is ready to go! (I think).
Oil: Motorex 4T 1.7 Liters + 2 New Filters (no screen)
I seem to buy a lot of this stuff, this is just from Amazon.
Here’s my settings as they stand prior to setting out.
Engine Mapping Switch: Was at 1 now set to 2 (Braaap-Braaap mode)
Note: For now I am totally guessing at setting my rear sag. I gave the preload a few turns into tension and left it at that. Yeah, I know. But seriously, the way to check my sag as I am setting it up would be to get fully packed, fully dressed and then get on the bike. It would be different if all I had to do was jump on the bike. If I find a preload adjuster (XTRIG) for cheap I’ll jump right back in there.
FORK
- Spring – .62 Kg/mm (four up from stock)
- Fork Oil at 125mm
- Compression Dampening 10 Clicks
- Rebound Dampening 10 Clicks
SHOCK
The shock has a little more adjustment capabilities.
- Spring – 10.0 kg/mm
- High Speed Compression Dampening – 1 Turn
- Low Speed Compression Dampening – 10 Clicks
- Rebound Dampening – 10 Clicks
I noticed that I had swiveled the shock shaft 180 degrees inadvertently so my rebound adjustment screw was on the left side of the bike. Still easy to reach so no issues.
