First of all, I am really excited to give these a try. I really like the idea of adding more foot support.
Twinpegs for a KTM 690 Enduro R
I’ve been working on my static balance technique which, if you didn’t know, is all about foot pressure on the pegs.
Full disclosure, I did not pay for these. I won them in the Bay Area Adventure Rally event. I communicated straight with Kai (the founder, engineer, maker) and was thoroughly impressed with the shipping process. His e-commerce system kept me informed the whole way and considering that they were coming all the way from Norway – I had them in less than a week!
Once I had them on the bench I looked to YouTube for a install video and there was nothing that I could find for any of the variants – so I took my time and installed one side and then with what I learned on that I made the video below for the install on the other side.
A few things to note.
- My bike is a 2014 KTM 690 Enduro R but I believe the same instructions would apply to the Husky and even the Gas Gas.
- I am running Standard height PivotPegz, with no passenger pegs or bracket and no rear rack.
- While the kit came with a variety of spacers to bump up the rear peg height, I didn’t need to use any of them.
TORQUE SPECS:
- M10 Bolt that is the stock peg pivot 30 Nm / 22 Ft Lbs.
- M8 Bolt that is the TwinPeg rear peg pivot 17 Nm / 12.5 Ft Lbs.
- M8 Torx Bolts to the foot peg bracket 25 Nm / 18.4 Ft Lbs.
Riding in a seated position my foot does not hit the Twinpeg. It’s only when I stand up that my heal of my Alpinestars Tech 7 boot hits the Twinpeg. This position feels very neutral – not too high, not too low.
Next up, it’s off to go give these guys a good testing.
