Started the day by meeting Tomm at his house in Danville, Ca.
From there we zipped on to meet Ernie and his girls in Manteca.
We stopped at a Rainbow Trout fish farm below Groveland for a while that was really cool!
Greta rode on the back of Tomms bike for a while.
Headed up 120 through Yosemite. Bikes are an entrance fee of $15 while cars are $30. Three bikes and one car later we were off to Tioga Pass.
We stopped at the ever beautiful Tenaya Lake for a quick stop. There’s no shortage of beautiful alpine lakes up here.
A few mile sup we came across a guy that had dropped his BMW 1200 GS while parking in a gravel section.
Tomm pulled over and he and Ernie helped him right the bike.
At the top of Tioga Pass I was following Ernie and kept smelling raw gas.
I realized it was from Ernie’s bike and pulled alongside and told him to pull over immediately.
I could see gas was pouring down from his take and across his cylinders and off his exhaust pipes. We pulled off at the next turnout under a great looking tree.
Luckily we avoided a fire and Ernie pulled over and started pulling apart his bike.
Pulling off his gas tank we found that the primary fuel line had popped off the outlet from the tank!
Turns out it was an easy re attachment and we were back on the road in a few minutes.
We’re stopped for the night at June Lake for the night – heading out at 7 am tomorrow for Springdale, Utah.
I think Ernie likes June Lake for some reason…
It’ll be a long day tomorrow. Almost 500 miles of Alien Highway boredom. I suggested we ride the Alien Highway at night for maximum alien exposure but I think they were too scared. I ride with woosies. #justsayin
